Bereavement Store
Through the Community Support Center we also have a Bereavement Store where books and various other items of comfort may be purchased for those dealing with illness and loss.

The Following are items available for purchase through the Community Support Center:

Bereavement Gift Bags
When someone experiences a loss, we often send flowers. Flowers are a wonderful way to express your love and concern but flowers are not lasting. Bereavement gift bags are a lasting way to show you care for someone who is grieving. They are also a wonderful gift you can give to yourself. Hospice has bereavement gift bags made especially for children, teens, and adults. They are filled with bereavement book(s) and/or a journal as well as relaxing self-care items to help heal someone's grief.

Remembrance Trees
Remembrance trees are a great way to keep the memory of your loved one alive. Each tree is individually packaged in a clear, reusable tube. The tube creates a micro-climate that helps the tree to survive for up to 30 days. This gives you enough time to pick up just the the right spot to plant the tree, which will serve as a cherished reminder of your loved one for years to come.

The Remembrance Tree is 10 inches tall. Once planted, it will grow up to one foot each year and it can grow up to 80 to 100 feet tall! All Remembrance Trees include planting instructions and arrive fresh and healthy.

Books to Help you through a loved one's illness
Many of us have difficulties dealing with a loved one's illness. Adults and children alike often have difficulties finding the right words to say to their loved one or even the right words to express how they feel. That is why Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc. has written material for adults and children dealing with illness.

For Just Such a Time as This is wonderfully written for those who are facing a terminal illness or for those who wish to bring meaning to some of life's most difficult questions.

When Someone You Love is Very Sick is a journal for children to draw or write in to help them better understand their loved one's present illness. This is a meaningful way for children to express themselves.

Bereavement Books
The more you understand your grief, the better you can cope with your loss. Bereavement books are an excellent tool to help you understand your grief better. The Community Support Center has bereavement books that deal with many types of losses, especially written for children, teens, or adults.

Because of the quantity and variety of the bereavement books, we ask that you please call the Community Support Center at Hospice & Palliative Care, Inc.'s office at (315) 735-6484 or 1-800-317-5661 for a complete list.
