Hospice strongly believes that patients should spend their final days in a dignified environment
of their choosing. For those patients who, for whatever reason, cannot stay in their home, a
nursing home, etc., the Siegenthaler Residential Center at Hospice is a clean, bright, comfortable
alternative.
The 4-bed Siegenthaler Center accepted its first
patient in February 2005 following construction that
was funded by a two-year campaign that received
nearly $2 million in contributions from our generous
and caring community. Since that date dozens of
patients and their families have availed themselves of
the Siegenthaler Center and the service of the compassionate
professionals from Hospice's interdisciplinary
team of nurses, aides, social workers, chaplains
and volunteers.
With 24-hour nursing care, spacious, attractive
patient suites, a kitchen and other amenities and a
beautiful courtyard, the Siegenthaler Center sets a
high standard for patient comfort and care, and central
New Yorkers are justifiably proud of the excellent
facility and vital service that their contributions have
helped to establish in our community.
